Our work is guided by the principles of Japanese garden-making, developed through many years of professional training and practical experience in Japan.
Rather than interpreting Japanese gardens from an external perspective, we draw upon the knowledge and techniques that have been handed down within the tradition itself. This philosophy informs every aspect of our work, from the placement of a single stone to the skilled pruning of trees and the long-term care of mature gardens.
Professionally trained specialists in both Japanese garden construction and traditional pruning are exceptionally rare outside of Japan. Drawing on this depth of experience and expertise, we create authentic Japanese gardens of a standard seldom found outside Japan.

His career has centred on working with collectors, institutions and clients in the U.K. and internationally, developing an understanding of how specialist Japanese craftsmanship can be presented and valued in a global context.
At Enso Atelier, Adam leads the strategic and commercial direction of the business, overseeing client relationships, business development and delivery of each project. His focus is on building Enso into a trusted name for authentic Japanese garden-making in Britain, while preserving the standards, knowledge and attention to detail that distinguish the tradition.
